Star Trek: Nemesis is the 10th "Star Trek" film and the fourth one that starred all the original cast members of the Next Generation crew.

With all the hype that's been going around in the past two years, Nemesis was slated to be the best Star Trek movie ever! This was planned to be the last movie starring the full cast-members of the Next Generation crew, and they expected to go out with a bang. Naturally with all the geek-glory, I expected to be blown away with this movie. I was not. Still, it was an enjoyable movie and one that all Star Trek fans should watch.

Here's the story. After many years, Troi and Riker has finally decided to tie the knot and get married. But on their way to their wedding, the Enterprise is sent to the neutral zone of Romulan space where they pick up a prototype android of Data. Then just right afterwards, they get sent down to Romulus where they meet up with the new praetor, Shinzon, a clone of Captain Picard who wants to discuss peace with the Federation. Of course Shinzon has other plans and a battle with the Enterprise was inevitable. What we get to see later on is one of Star Trek's better space fights ever. Notice I didn't use the word: "best." In my opinion, that honor goes to Star Trek 8: First Contact.

I had alot of problems watching this movie. When the Enterprise discovered the remains of the Data prototype, B-4 I found it quite odd that they didn't make any references to Lore, Data's evil brother. They made it appear as if this was the first time the Enterprise has ever encountered another one of Soong's creation. Another thing that I found disturbing was that throughout the whole movie, there were barely any focus on Worf. Fans of Deep Space Nine will remember that Worf was promoted as the ambassador of the Klingon empire in the series finale. Yet in this movie we see Worf acting as security chief and tactical officer again. Did he get demoted somehow? What's up with that? And how come there were no mention about his one time fling with Deanna Troi?

OK, OK, maybe I was expecting too much of this film. It's just that after watching Star Trek: First Contact, I expected the same type of quality in the tenth film. In First Contact, it paved the way for the new Enterprise television series that is currently airing and it was also the source where most of Star Trek: Voyager drew their storyline from. We were introduced with the Borg Queen and we were introduced with Zefram Cochrane. But in this movie, I can't help but feel empty handed. There was nothing spectacular about Star Trek: Nemesis. In fact, the movie seems to be an exact "clone" of Star Trek II: the Wrath of Khan. Both are similar in many ways. Without spoiling the movie, I won't bother to mention the similarities.

I hope that this will be the last movie for the Next Generation crew. To me, the magic is gone and I think that it is time to focus more on the other Star Trek characters. I want to find out more about the DS9 crew after the series finale. I also want to know what happened to the Voyager crew when they arrived back to Earth. It's time for the Next Generation saga to move on.

Overall Score: B+
