The head of a multinational lingerie maker based in Japan decides that the Hong Kong branch should hire men to design a new product, the "ultimate bra." Enter Johnny (Lau Ching-Wan) and Wayne (Louis Koo), two men who knows nothing about bras and even less about women. The branch manager Samantha (Carina Lau) and lead designer Lena (Gigi Leung) are not too fond of having men working in their All-Women designer firm, and they like Johnny and Wayne even less. Will Johnny and Wayne succeed in designing the "ultimate bra"? Will Johnny and Wayne be able to get Samantha and Lena to like them? And is it even possible for the two to get any work done while being surrounded by all those beautiful girls in the office?

When the movie first came out, I wasn't planning on watching it. It had "chick flick" written all over it. But since I heard so many good things about it, I decided to give La Brassiere a chance. To my surprise, I found La Brassiere to be hilarious. It's a light-hearted comedy that is not meant to be taken serious. It's just pure fun. The cast seems to have had quite alot of fun filming this movie. And I had a great time watching it.

Lau Ching-Wan, who is best known for his action roles, did a wonderful job as the lead. Louis Koo wasn't so bad himself. These two make a great team. From the first moment these two actors came on stage together (as they were flirting with the girls in the office) I knew that this was going to be a great movie. And it was. It's just too bad that La Brassiere was a little bit too predictable.

We knew from the beginning that Johnny and Wayne will eventually learn the errors of their ways and hook up with Samantha and Lena. Just like we knew from the beginning that they will "miraculously" design the ultimate bra in time before the deadline. The plot of the film is stale and overused, but expected in Hong Kong films nowadays. It's always the same formula: get famous, good-looking Hong Kong pop stars, create a love interest, and throw in a few more beautiful people in the mix and you have a box office hit. It worked in this film, but let's see how long this formula can last in the next couple of years.

I normally wouldn't call this movie a masterpiece but I think that this is a movie that is worth viewing. If not for the story (which is not too bad), watch it for the many beautiful actresses and actors in this movie.

Overall Score: B+
